AFRO-MELANCHOLY
Carlos Idun-Tawiah is a Ghanaian photographer and filmmaker. In his artistic practice, he takes inspiration from family photo albums and rich photo archives of Africa. His works oscillate around themes like community, love, and hope. Through fictional representations resembling movie stills, Idun-Tawiah, with dedication, carefulness, and nostalgia, weaves an African tale connecting his own memories with idealised images of the past and future. His work has featured in Vogue, CNN, The Guardian, InStyle, Financial Times, Le Monde France, Vanity Fair Italy, Harper’s Bazaar, among others. His projects received many prestigious awards.

Stephen Tayo is a Nigerian photographer. He takes inspiration from the urban landscape of Lagos, where he lives and works. Ayomide Tejuoso (Plantation) is a Nigerian-British artist living in Geneva and London. Working at the intersection of photography, film, and installation, she crafts wild visual stories about the experiences and expressions of the Blacks in her artistic practice. Her projects received numerous distinctions and awards, and her works were exhibited in prestigious cultural institutions in Europe and West Africa, i.a., PhotoVogue Festival 2021, Foam Talent 2021, Photo Vogue Voice Residency 2022, PhMuseum Women’s Grant Shortlist 2022, Getxophoto Festival Shortlist 2022, OSCAM Amsterdam, in Rele Gallery, and Affinity Gallery. Currently, she works with creative directing, a visual campaign for Photo Vogue Festival, and writes for „TWIST Magazine”, „New Currency Magazine”, and „PhotoVogue”.
