The direct impetus for this theme was the 2025 program of the State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw, entitled &#8220;Against Stereotypes.&#8221; This issue summarizes reflections and experiences resulting from program activities inspired by a decolonial approach, which concerned the representation of cultures, heritage, history, and the present day of the African continent.<\/p>\n\n<p>For the thematic section, we invited individuals who have engaged in broader reflection on perceptions, representations, and relations between Poland and countries of Sub-Saharan Africa. In this section, the Museum\u2019s program and collections are the subject of only a few articles, as the goal is to provide a broader historical and theoretical framework for our decolonial activities within the specific context of Polish history and the present.
