Heavenly Christmas Market

Come and visit our annual Heavenly Christmas Market!

Creators from all over Poland, from Ukraine and Belarus present traditional hand-made products and designer objects inspired by folklore and nature. This year there will also be products connected with traditional music. It’s an excellent opportunity to prepare for Christmas and buy books and CDs presenting the music of folk artists and those who uphold the tradition.

Naturally, there will be an abundance of Holiday treats, ornamented honey-cakes and beautiful decorations from various regions – all prepared according to the tradition: from straw, paper, clay, threads.

This year we especially recommend Ukrainian Hutsul pottery, Easter eggs (which our Eastern neighbours use to decorate Christmas trees), and intricate straw weavings brought and presented by Anna Deynega from Ukraine.

For over twenty years, the Heavenly Christmas Market has been organized annually at the Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw, and the city’s inhabitants and visitors from other parts of the country enjoy traditional decorations and folk toys at home. For the last three years we have also presented design inspired by folklore, traditional manufacture methods, natural materials and folk customs and rituals.

Tickets: 10 PLN (adults)/ 6 PLN (seniors, students, children 7+)/ free (children younger than 7).
*Tickets available in pre-order from December 1 at the ticket office in the museum’s opening hours.
