The exhibition presents traditional Bulgarian ornaments from the collection of the Regional Ethnographic Museum in Plovdiv. In Bulgaria ornaments had double purpose: they were both decorations and magical items. Jewellery from that region comes in a wide range of forms, production techniques and materials, from silver and gold to precious stones and mother-of-pearl.
