CREATIVE TALES
Creative Tales is a series of family workshops held in the educational space of the temporary exhibition „Afrotopies.” Each meeting will be inspired by a different book. Books will be written by authors from Africa or other Black communities outside the continent. During the event, we will read excerpts from the book together and then create our own artworks, drawing on elements of its storyline.
ABOUT THE EVENT
At this meeting in the series, we will be inspired by the book “Olu and Greta”, written and illustrated by Diana Ejaita. The book tells the story of cousins who, despite geographical and cultural differences, are united by friendship and the dream of meeting each other. Their lives may be different, but they both roller skate, jump down the street, and play with toy trains, trucks, and boats… During the workshop, we will talk about what we like to do, and what we would tell our cousins from other countries about our everyday lives.
As part of the art workshop, we will create postcards for our friends from around the world.
As part of the art workshop, we will create paper boxes for our precious things.
