Support for Persons with Disabilities

What is the programme?

This initiative, run by the Mazovian Voivodeship Government from 1 January to 31 December 2025, enables persons with disabilities to visit museums at a reduced cost. Under the programme, persons with disabilities will be able to visit the State Museum of Ethnography in Warsaw by purchasing a 1 PLN ticket.

What do we offer?

● A 1 PLN ticket for a person with a disability
● A 1 PLN ticket for an accompanying person/carer

Access to:

○ lectures, workshops, concerts, and fairs,
○ guided tours (adapted to individual needs),
○ museum lessons and culinary workshops.

Who can participate?

● Persons holding a disability identification card*,
● Their accompanying persons/carers – adults only,
● Only individuals residing in the Mazovian Voivodeship.

*Persons whose disability has been confirmed by a disability certificate or a certificate of the degree of disability, in accordance with the Act of 27 August 1997 on vocational and social rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities.

Not eligible for the programme are persons holding disability certificates issued by ZUS, KRUS, MON, or MSWiA, as well as children with a certificate of special educational needs.

How to take part in the programme?

For individual visitors:

1. Check availability and book a date: email: dostepnosc@ethnomuseum.pl or telephone: 512 940 167.
2. Complete the declaration of residence in the Mazovian Voivodeship (the accompanying person/carer must also complete the declaration).
3. On the day of the event, come to the Museum and present the completed declaration along with the disability identification card.
4. Purchase a 1 PLN ticket at the Ticket Desk.

Within the programme, individual visitors may take part in adult workshops, family workshops, concerts, and can access the Fairs. Information about current events and availability can be found in the Programme section.

For organised groups:

1. Contact the Reservation Office: rezerwacje@ethnomuseum.pl. Arrange the date and type of activity.
2. Ensure that each participant completes the declaration of residence in the Mazovian Voivodeship (accompanying persons/carers must also complete the declaration).
3. On the day of the visit, come to the Museum and present the completed declarations together with the disability identification cards.
4. Purchase tickets at the price of 1 PLN per person.

Depending on the group’s specific needs and interests, it is possible to arrange educational guided tours, selected museum lessons, or culinary workshops.

Educational guided tours

We offer guided tours of selected exhibitions for organised groups of adults. We can adapt the tour to the needs of blind and partially sighted visitors by providing audio description and the opportunity to touch selected objects and tactile graphics. We also offer portable induction loops for visitors who use hearing aids. The tour can be further adapted to the needs of other groups by adjusting the programme and the style of narration.

Museum lessons and culinary workshops

Declaration of residence in the Mazovian Voivodeship

Each participant must complete a declaration confirming residence in the Mazovian Voivodeship (including accompanying persons/carers). For children under 13 or adults who are fully legally incapacitated, the declaration must be completed by a person legally authorised to represent them. For persons aged 13–18 or adults who are partially legally incapacitated, the declaration may be completed either by the person themselves or by their legal representative.
