Workshops on forced displacement of Lemkos/Carpatho-Rusyns.
Classes devoted to the issue of forced displacement, discussed through the example of the experiences of Lemkos/Carpathian Ruthenians, using tools of the drama method. They are based on materials related to personal history. The classes rely on short, prepared materials referring to the story of Grandma Marta—a Lemko woman who was forced to leave her home. Fragments of memories, descriptions of situations, symbolic objects, and photographs serve as stimuli that activate the imagination and encourage reflection. The use of the drama method allows participants, under controlled conditions, to experience the situation “from the inside.” As a result, they can develop empathy and gain an understanding of the phenomenon of forced displacement.
Target group: primary school, grades 4-6
